50 miles out and back in the midst of the Colorado Rockies.
Low point, 9,200', high point is Hope Pass, 12,600'. Majority is on forest trails with some mountain roads. Pacers allowed after the 50 mile point. 11 well supplied aid stations. Entries are 1st come, 1st serve and entries will be limited. Entry fee is $250 until Jan. 31, $295 until May 31, $350 thereafter if any entries remain. Complete information mailed to each entrant. Thursday evening carbo-loading dinner. Race sport bag, mementos and technical shirt for each entrant.

Start is at the corner of 6th & Harrison downtown Leadville.
Course Description

Awards
Under 25 hours, hand crafted gold and silver trophy belt buckle; under 30 hours, hand crafted silver buckle. Hooded sweatshirt and medal to all finishers. Additional gold & silver pendant to all women finishers. Awards 3 deep in all age/gender categories.
Packet Pickup / Expo
Mandatory packet pick-up & pre-race medical check-in at at the 6th St. Gym, 100 block of E. 6th St. on Friday, August 20.
Post Race Activities
Awards ceremony, Sunday, 8/22 at the 6th St. Gym.
Weather
Weather ranges from high 30's to low 80's. Racers can expect heat, bright sunshine, rain, wind, hail and snow, especially above timberline.
Directions
Leadville, the nation's highest city, is located 24 miles off I-70 at Copper on Hwy 24.
