Brief Description
The Nor-Cal Juniors Splash & Dash will be returning for its second year and is open to athletes ages 4-15. A Splash & Dash is a fun and fast-growing sport that combines running and swimming. The focus is on PARTICIPATION rather than competition and the event will not be timed. The race entry does not include additional cost if you need to purchase a one-day membership or youth annual membership.
Additional Information
Athletes will race in one of five age division: 4 - 6, 7 - 8, 9 - 10, 11 - 12, 13 - 15.
Physically challenged athletes will race in their age division.
Distances:
Kids division for youth ages 4-6 will swim 25m and run .5k.
Ages 7-10 will swim 100m and run 1k.
Ages 11-15 will swim 200m and run 2k.
Distances for physically challenged athletes can be adjusted based on athlete's abilities.
Registration will also be available the morning of the race from 7:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m. for $25 plus a $10 USAT one day pass if needed.
Event Details:
The swim will take place in a 25m lap pool and the run will take placed on a closed, paved path though the park. Athletes will start in a single line, enter the water individually and swim in a zig-zag fashion through the appropriate distance. Each running lap will be 1k long.
This event will not be timed and every athlete will receive a finishers metal.
PRERACE CLINIC DETAILS:
A clinic will be provided the weekend before the race for an additional $10 fee. Athletes will receive professional coaching on how to navigate a multisport event. They will learn how to set-up their own transition area and practice the whole event. This provides a great opportunity to reduce race nervousness and for athletes to meet other racers. Team Special: Athletes can join Team Nor-Cal Juniors MultiSport ($50), attend the prerace clinic and receive free race entry. Membership allows athletes to attend all trainings at our drop-in rate and receive professional coaching by a USAT Level I and Youth & Junior certified coach.
