Race among the footsteps of Strasburg's settlers, enjoying the beautiful Shenandoah Valley scenery. This year's event, Saturday, April 13, includes a 5k run, 33k bike, and 5k run, and all events start and end at Strasburg Town Park, right along the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. Age group medals and overall male and female trophies offered. All ages welcome. Accepting individual participants and two-person teams. Chip timing provided by Tri-Performance LLC. New this year is a Friday night buffet dinner ($10/person), a new and challenging bike route, and a discounted room block for out-of-towners. Course description and route map, including elevation changes, is available at http://www.shenandoahcountyva.us/parks_new/programs/ or at www.active.com (keywords: Strasburg Duathlon). $65/person or $125/two-person team by April 11; $75/person or $135/two-person team for on-site registration. +$10/person USAT non-member fee. On-site check-in and registration starts at 6:30am; event starts at 8:00am. Parking and porta-johns on-site. Food/beverage available after race and event photographer on-site too.
