750m Swim/21k Bike/5k Run
1500m Swim/40k Bike/10k Run
The perfect way to end the Colorado tri season. The Desert's Edge sprint and Olympic tri take place on Colorado's warm western slope. Summer lasts just a few weeks longer on the western side of the state, so you can enjoy water in the upper 60's, a rural rolling bike course, and a fun trail run at the edge of the desert - just a few short hours from Denver! Camping is available right at the race site, just 200 yards from the start and finish line. There will be $600 in prize money in the Olympic race, great post-race food, and a fun final tri weekend of the 2016 season.

Course Description
The swim course consists of a one-loop swim course for both distances in Highline Lake. The sprint bike course follows a 13.2-mile counter-clockwise loop on smooth paved rural country roads. The Olympic bike course follows the same rolling loop, and adds a scenic out & back section with a water bottle hand-up at approximately 15 miles into the course. The run course will follow gently rolling trails around Highline Lake with two aid stations per lap. The 5k-sprint course makes on lap of the course. The 10k Olympic course makes two laps of the course that follows the Highline Lake Trail. This course is 98 percent soft dirt surface and 2 percent paved.

How to Avoid The Porta Potty During a Race

We've all seen it and most of us have done it ... 30 minutes (or less) into a race athletes are already looking for a port potty. The good news is that it doesn't have to be that way. The secret is a proper hydration plan before the gun goes off, and here's how you do it.

Still using GU, PowerGel or Clif SHOT?
See why athletes are making the switch to e-Gel, the only Electrolyte Energy Gel. Get 230 mg Sodium, 85 mg Potassium and more complex carbs than any other gel.
