All 26.2 miles of the marathon will be run within the borders of William B. Umstead State Park, a five thousand-acre tract of dense woods, lakes, streams, hills, and trails that rests between the cities of Raleigh, Cary, and Durham. The course will be run almost entirely on the park’s bridle trails, which are the width of a single lane road and covered with fine gravel. The route is scenic and hilly. |

Undy 5000, A Brief Run to Fight Colon Cancer
The Colon Cancer Alliance (CCA), a national patient advocacy organization dedicated to ending the suffering caused by colon cancer will host the 2nd Annual Denver Undy 5000 5K Run on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Denver’s City Park.
The goal of this family-friendly event is to educate the public about colon cancer, promote screenings, and get people talking about this deadly but preventable disease. Participants will run or walk in custom boxer-style shorts as a fun way to bring attention to a serious disease.
The run also raises funds to maintain and build the CCA’s national and local patient support and innovative public awareness programs. A percentage of the local proceeds will go toward the Colorado Colorectal Screening Program. |

We have been notified that the BAM for 2006 has been cancelled
due to the logistics of trying to reroute the race and to go forward
with so many of the base and city facilities down and damaged by
Hurricane Ivan. If you have already applied to the BAM,
your checks will be returned. While not affiliated with the Navy,
there is an Inaugral Pensacola Marathon/Half Marathon planned
