The Cameron Fitzwater Memorial Scholarship Foundation was created to celebrate the life of Cameron Taylor Fitzwater by allowing his life and aspirations to live on by helping others pursue their dreams of higher education as he had planned to do in the Fall of 2012. It is about turning tragedy into triumph while developing community spirit and giving.

The “Color Me Cameron” 5K celebrates Cameron’s life the way he lived it. Cameron is known for his outgoing personality. He loved everyone. He met no strangers. He was always the first one to pop up out of nowhere and say “Hi, I’m Cameron”, and give you a great big bear hug, as he was known to do to his friends and strangers alike. If you met him once, you knew him. One meeting with him and you were hooked. He was one who was easy to love and hard to hate. You could never stay mad at him long because he would flash his signature smile of his and you would give in. It has been best said by those who knew him, “He brought color to a gray world.”
