The 3rd Annual Ka'u Coffee Trail run celebrates its award-winning Ka'u Coffee. All proceeds from this event stay in Ka'u to benefit the Ka'u community.

Sponsored by 'O Ka'u Kakou, a volunteer-based 501(c)(3) non -profit community service organization.

On September 17, 2016 the Ka'u Coffee Trail Run returns for its 3rd year offering moderate to highly-challenging 5K, 10K and 1/2 marathon races through macadamia nut and coffee fields along the beautiful slopes of rural Ka'u on the southern side of Hawaii Island.

The race begins and ends at the Ka'u Coffee Mill in Pahala (Wood Valley). The course starts with a family-friendly 5K, continues uphill through a moderately-challenging 10K and reaches a 3100-foot elevation in the vigorously-exhilarating Half Marathon.

Invite your friends and family to cheer you on and enjoy local food, live music.

Runners will receive a massage, lunch and a race goodies bag, including a T-shirt and more.

On-line registration opens May 2nd...
Register before midnight, July 16, 2016, for Early registration, August 16th for Regular registration and September 12th for Late registration.

Race day "non-online" registration ends September 17, 2016 at 6:30 AM. We need to provide runner's information to the race timers...

All runs begin and finish at the Ka'u Coffee Mill, located at 96-2696 Wood Valley Road above Pahala Town.

Course Description
The 5K: is a family-friendly, run/walk trail through macadamia nut groves and coffee fields

The10K:is a moderate run through macadamia nut groves, coffee fields & a huge eucalyptus tree forest

The Half Marathon: follows the 5K & 10K course, then continues up to an elevation of 3100 feet, traverses onto a 4-wheel drive access road, marked trails undulating through grazing pastures, former sugarcane fields, and winding down through newly planted coffee fields. Top 3 men & women overall (overall winners do not win top age group awards)
Top 3 men & women in age groups from 19 & under to 70 and over

Packet Pickup / Expo
Race packets are available on the day of the race between 6:00 am to 6:40 AM at the Ka'u Coffee Mill. Race day registration ends September 17, at 6:30 AM.



Timing / Results
Bib timing will be used for the races

Results will be posted during the Ka'u Coffee Trail Run and on the sponsors website at http://okaukakou.org

Post Race Activities
Fun for the whole family includes: live entertainment, silent auction, local food, awards and door prizes (must be present to win).

Weather
Weather in Hawaii in September is much like it is year-round: Beautiful! Expect temperatures around 77 degrees with some cloud coverage to shade your run and gentle ocean breezes to keep you cool across the finish line
