Women Caring for the Community will host its 4th annual Covered Bridge 5K Run/Walk in connection with the Virginia Covered Bridge Festival.

Registration Fees:
$20 before May 27 (with a tshirt)
$25 afterwards

The run/walk will commence at 8:00am with registration from 7:00-7:45am at the Smith River Church of the Brethren near the Bob White Covered Bridge. Transportation will be provided to the start of the race near Worley Machines. The race will then proceed to Jack's Creek Covered Bridge and back to Bob White Covered Bridge where it will end in the church parking lot.

Awards will be presented to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each age group as well as to the top male and female finishers in the 5K.

Money raised will support the following projects:
-Christmas Cheer
-Patrick County Food Bank
-Caring Hearts Free Clinic
-PCHS Scholarship
-Patrick County Adult Developmental Center projects

Event Start Location
Smith River Church of the Brethren, 2282 Bob White Road, Woolwine, VA 24185

Course Description
Transportation will be provided to the start line at Worley Machines, the intersection of Route 8 and Elamsville Road. The race will proceed down Route 8 towards Jack's Creek, turn right on Jack's Creek, run through Jack's Creek Covered Bridge and circle back towards the start line. Turn left on Elamsville Road, run to Bob White Covered Bridge and through it, finish in the parking lot of Smith River Church of the Brethren. The course is very flat, with one uphill around the 2 mile mark when you start running on Elamsville Road.

Awards will be presented to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each age group as well as to the top male and female finishers in the 5K.

Packet Pickup / Expo
Pick up the day of the race from 7:00-7:45am at Smith River Church of the Brethren.

Will be displayed on afterwards

Post Race Activities
Please stay for the Virginia Covered Bridge Festival afterwards, with opening ceremonies to begin at 10:00am. The festival includes craft and food vendors, live music at two locations, petting zoo and child blow-up playground, rubber duck race down creek, horse and buggy rides through covered bridges.

Take Route 8 towards Woolwine, turn on Elamsville Road. About 1 mile down will be Bob White Covered Bridge and Smith River Church of the Brethren.

Parking will be provided at the church.
