This race is run in the Kaibab National Forest near the entrance to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. It is staged near the Kaibab Lodge the weekend after Hwy 67 opens up for the season to allow visitors access to the North Rim. The route takes you along the rim of the Grand Canyon to 7 spectacular lookout points, then climbs 2,000ft over the last 15 miles to the finish line.

The race will be staged at a designated open use area approximately 3 miles from the Kaibab Lodge, The trail out to the rim is made up of remote doubletrack with enough singletrack to make the smile on your face even bigger. Stina Point will give you the first glimpse into the canyon, then you'll return to the aid station and set out for the 19 miles of singletrack along the Rainbow Rim trail. (They've added a mile since last year!) This trail hugs the rim of the canyon, which is the border of the national park, and will take you to five stunning overlooks- Timp Point, North Timp Point, Locust Point, Fence Point, and Parissawampitts Point. From there, we will link together some decomissioned forest service logging roads and an old trail called the Rim Trail that hasn't been used much in a couple of decades which will connect us over to the spectacular Crazy Jug overlook. From the aid station at Crazy Jug, you'll make your way out three miles to the turnaround at what many consider to be the crowning overlook of the course, Monument Point. On the return leg of the out-and-back, you will not go out to Stina Point

Course Description
The 50 mile route is a point-to-point race starting with an early morning shuttle (4:45am) out to Crazy Jug Point for a 6am start on Saturday. The race starts with an out-and-back to Monument Point to catch an unforgettable sunrise, then connects into the Rainbow Rim trail for 19 miles with 5 overlook ponts along the way, then does an out and back to Stina Point and then climbs up the pleateau to finish at an elevation of just over 9,000ft.

The 50K runners will be shuttled to their starting line at Fence Point to start their race at 8am on Saturday. This course is the same as the last 32 miles of the 100 mile and 50 mile courses. Shuttle leaves at 7am sharp.

Half Marathon runners will be shuttled to Timp Point and will start their race at 10am on Saturday. From Timp Point, runners will climb 2,000ft to the finish line in this challenging course!

It is about 4 hours from Las Vegas to the Kaibab Lodge. Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks are within an hour’s drive along this route if you’d like to take some extra time to explore. The approach from Salt Lake City is about 6 hrs and passes very near Bryce Canyon and the east entrance to Zion National Park. It is about 4 hours from Flagstaff, Arizona and 5.5 hours from Phoenix.
