Venus de Miles, Illinois’ first all-women’s road ride will take place in Lake Forest. The inaugural ride will offer 30 and 60-mile options. All distances will begin at the Glen Rowan House, Lake Forest College (500 N. Sheridan Road, Lake Forest). Registration is now open and fees are starting at $79 before April 1, 2012. A post-ride expo follows the ride complete with women’s specific vendors, prizes, wine and beer. Proceeds benefit the Greenhouse Scholars, an organization dedicated to helping high-performing, under-resourced students reach their full potential. 10 scholarships will be granted in Illinois.
