UnitedHealthcare NC Marathon and BB&T Half Marathon begin at 8:00am and For Kids Sake 5K begins at 9am. Marathon is a qualifier for Boston Marathon. Registration available now at www.ncmarathon.org.

Course Description
This year's marathon and half-marathon course is rolling (this is the Piedmont, after all) with a flat start and finish. The marathon features just one steep hill, right before mile 14, but it’s short. Visit www.ncmarathon.org for more information. http://www.ncmarathon.org/course-map.asp
Awards
All fiinishers will receive a medal and a ticket to the post-race feast. Awards ceremonies will be as follows: Family 5K Awards - 11:00am; Half Marathon Awards - 11:30am; Marathon Awards 12 Noon.
Packet Pickup / Expo
Packet Pickup location TBD on Friday, November 18, 2011 from 12noon until 10pm. NO RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP FOR MARATHON AND HALF MARATHON PARTICIPANTS WHO ARE NOT PRE-REGISTERED.
Timing / Results
All official entrants will be timed using a disposable ChampionChip.
Post Race Activities
Finish Line celebration will include Food Tent, Live Music, Natty Greene's Beer Garden (adults only), Awards Ceremony, Children's Zone.

Chondromalacia is a term used to describe damage or softening of the articular cartilage on the underside of the kneecap. It is similar to patellofemoral pain syndrome (runner's knee), which refers to pain under and around the knee cap.
