Come join us at Point Pinole Regional Shoreline for a different kind of race! From 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, the running party won't stop!

The "Big Races" are the 12 hour and 6 hour events: The Dirty Dozen and Dirty Half Dozen! These can be run by individuals or with teams of two or three. These races offer the opportunity to run without worrying about "finishing time"! Anyone who runs a single lap is automatically a "finisher" whether their total run time is 15 minutes or the full 12 hours.

Don’t think you’re ready to run all day, but still want to come out and run? Sign up for one (or more) of the Dirty 5K/10K races and show your support of those brave souls running for 6 and 12 hours!

Entry to any race includes the all-day BBQ/picnic that will begin at 11:30 and go on the whole day.

All races will take place on a gentle 3.1 mile loop consisting of 98% dirt fire trails. Runners will go out along the shoreline (offering expansive views of multiple bridges and mountains) and then come back through the fragrant eucalyptus groves.

12 HOUR/6 HOUR RACES
The 12 and 6 hour runs can be approached in several different ways. Many will test themselves to see exactly how far they can run in this set amount of time. Others will use it to run a goal distance in a fully-supported race setting without the worry of deadlines or cut-offs. Others will simply run to see if they can keep moving for that long!

Few are expected to run without any stopping the whole time. Walk breaks are advised. Runners will also pass through the start/finish area with each loop and will have the chance to stock up on fuel, change shoes or clothing, visit friends, etc. Support crew may set up personal "aid stations" near the start/finish area. Expect a party-like atmosphere as you come around each loop with support personnel ready to get you whatever you need. There will be an abundance of hot and cold food of many different varieties to keep everyone full and happy.

In addition to the individual 6 and 12 hour runners, teams of 2 and 3 may take turns in whatever order they wish to create a "total team distance".

The 6 hour and 12 hour races will begin at 7:00am

The 6 hour race ends at 1:00pm

The 12 hour race ends at 7:00pm

An additional .7 mile loop will be available to run for the last hour of each timed event -- starting at hour 5 for the 6-hour runners and hour 11 for the 12-hour runners.

DIRTY 10K AND 5K RACES

It's not every weekend that you can schedule a 5K or 10K to start as late as noon or even 6:00pm!

The "Dirty 10K and 5K" races are timed to give maximum moral support to the 6 and 12 hour runners. The 10Ks and 5Ks start 2 hours and 1 hour (respectively) before the end of each timed race. This gives us the following start times:

The first Dirty 10K starts at 11:00am

The first Dirty 5K starts at noon

The second Dirty 10K starts at 5:00pm

The second Dirty 5K start at 6:00pm

10,000 (AND 5,000) METER MANIACS!
We know what some of you are thinking! "That's nice, but what if I want to hang out all day and run both 5Ks? Or even all of the 5K/10Ks?"

That's why we've created three more categories with discounted entry fees for those who want to run a little (or a lot) more:

DOUBLE DIRTY
Entry into any two of the "Dirty 5K/10K" races!

TRIPLE DIRTY
Entry into any three of the "Dirty 5K/10K" races!

DIRTY ALL DAY
Entry into all FOUR "Dirty 5K/10K races!

Multi-race runners will get one shirt and one medal, but will receive free engraving of the medal to be sure it denotes their special event. They will also earn one "It's It" for every race completed!
