Mesquite Resort Association and the Casa Blanca Hotel & Casino are excited to present the Mesquite Tri States Marathon: The only marathon in the U.S. where you can run in three states, Utah, Arizona and Nevada while enjoying the sunrise and the incredible scenery in the high desert as you run mostly downhill to Mesquite, a city both beautiful and unique.
Course Description
The Mesquite Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K fun run right into downtown Mesquite. This beautiful town is known for it’s relaxed atmosphere, yet still features incredible opportunities for the whole family. The surrounding area is incredible scenic. The running route is along the old Highway from St. George to Mesquite. Much of the run is next to the Virgin river, and the route is along rolling hills, with tall red rocks.
The Mesquite Marathon and Half Marathon will be given the USATF Certification. This ensures you, the runner that you are running the correct distance.
Marathon Course
The race starts near St. George Utah, then follows the historic U.S. 91 (Old Highway) through Utah, Arizona and Nevada. Then from Littlefield to Mesquite the course parallels I-15, running on the Frontage Road. The race will end at the Casa Blanca Event Center in Mesquite NV.
The course is a rolling down hill course. The first 20 miles are mostly down hill while the last 6 have rolling hills. Please train accordingly.
Aide stations will be every 2 miles starting at mile 3.
Half Marathon Course
The Half Marathon will begin at the half-way point and continue to the same finish as the marathon.
Aide stations will be every 2 miles.
Awards
Finishers Medallions will be awarded to all who finish.
Awards will also be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the following age divisions. 13 & Under, 14-18,19-24, 25-29, 30-34,35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-59, 60-64, 65-69, over 70 for both men's and women's Marathon and Half Marathon.
An Awards table will be set up in the Casa Blanca Events Center and winners will be announced as soon as they are tabulated. If you believe you have placed please stay to receive your award. Awards will not be mailed
Packet Pickup / Expo
Packets can be picked up at The Casa Blanca Event Center (the large white tent in the North end of the Casa Blanca parking lot) on Friday November 16th, 2012 from 3:00 until 8:00 pm. Buses will not be held for those picking up packets so please plan accordingly.
Timing / Results
Chrono Track disposable chip timing System. Results will be available right after the race.

Chondromalacia is a term used to describe damage or softening of the articular cartilage on the underside of the kneecap. It is similar to patellofemoral pain syndrome (runner's knee), which refers to pain under and around the knee cap.
