On National Trails Day, Saturday June 2, 2012, runners, walkers, and ultras will take on the tenth annual Rainier to Ruston Rail-Trail Relay and Ultra. The course follows the Foothills Trail from the shoulders of Mt. Rainier to the shores of Puget Sound. The trail passes through pristine wilderness and historic communities, following the old Northern Pacific railroad grade that once brought settlers and supplies into the west. The top runners, walkers, and ultras in each division receive the coveted Golden Spike Awards.
This year we are offering the following races:
1/2 marathon, marathon+ (27.7 miles), walking relay, 50k, 50 mile ultra and running relay |

This was my first relay and I had a blast. Great length and great views. Very organized and easy to fallow the entire event even for a newbie. I ran with experienced runner who have done this race for the past couple of years and they stated that this is one of there favorite races. Newbie Portland, Oregon |
