  As the state’s premiere running event, the Duke City Marathon is the largest and longest running marathon in the history of the state of New Mexico. A qualifier for the Boston Marathon, the Duke City Marathon attracts thousands of runners from all over the state and country. The Duke City Marathon also host a Marathon Relay, Half Marathon run/Walk, and 5k Run/Walk.

Every year the Duke City Marathon hosts a pre-race family health expo and packet pick-up, called FitFest: Powered By Defined Fitness, to kick off the event. The FitFest and packet pick-up will take place at the Albuquerque Convention Center in the Northwest exhibit hall on October 16th, 2010. This event includes demonstrations, workshops, fitness classes and last minute registration. On Sunday during the Duke City Marathon events, we will be having post race festivities on civic plaza, which will include a climbing wall and entertainment on stage. Last year over 10,000 people were in attendance at the events and 4,500 were registered for the races!!!

Course Description
Elevation at the Start/Finish is 5018 feet. Elevation at the turn around point (13.5 miles) is 5141 feet, a difference of +123 feet.


Awards
The Full Marathon Participants will recieve a Finishers Medal and the top three in each age category for the other races recieves a medal. All participants will recieve a Finishers lapel pin.

All races are chip timed and results will be posted on Civic Plaza after the race as well as a link on the website that will direct participants to there time.
