The marathon starts and finishes at Pioneer Park. Pioneer Park is located 2 1/2 miles west of I-29 on 6th St/Hwy 14 (not the bypass). The 1st Avenue entrance to Pioneer Park is closed on race day. Enter race day parking from Western Avenue (just west of Pioneer Park).
Over 300 volunteers are present on the course during the race. Aid stations offering water and sport drink are located every mile and a half beginning after mile 2.
Toilets and first aid are available at every other aid station starting at mile 7. Additional toilets are available before mile 1 and after mile 2.
Food and drink are provided to participants at the finish area. Refreshments include bananas, oranges, bagels, sport drink, pop and water. Vendors are available in the finish area, providing additional food and drink for participants and spectators.
Post race showers: Late check out is being arranged with participating hotels. Inquiries are being made at local health clubs to open their doors to runners. More on this later.
Temperatures around 45F at 7:00 a.m. and 55F at 11:00 a.m. are typical for Brookings in mid-May. |
