The Buzz Marathon is run through the hills and meadows of historic Camp Roberts Army National Guard Reservation in north San Luis Obispo County along the fertile Salinas River Valley. 3rd year Featuring all new courses - no more "big hill".

Starting at 650' above sea level the course goes around two loops then out and back rising to 925'. It is quiet and serene with wildlife spectators, spectacular views, training and research sites, aid stations and porta potties every 2 miles. Paved road with firm dirt shoulders available.

Revenue helps fund the athletic programs at Lillian Larsen Elementary School of Kindergarten to 8th grade students and Wounded Warriors. Larsen features cross country and track and field for all children, then volleyball and basketball for the middle schoolers grades 6 to 8. Entry fees, tournament fees, referee costs, uniforms, equipment, bus transportation, physicals for 8th graders entering high school, and summer camp scholarships are the focus of this race.


Event Start Location
Gymnasium on New Mexico St. inside Camp Roberts - security clearance requires photo ID for all passengers over age 15, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance.

Awards
Custom medals & T-shirt to all finishers. Trophy to top male and female in each of the four event races.

Packet Pickup / Expo
Packet pickup at Camp Roberts Museum Annex just inside the security gate to the right - north end of San Miguel 11am to 5pm Saturday, February 14 or 6:00-7:00am
Sunday, February 15 at start line.

Timing / Results
Chip timing this year. Rests to be posted on website.

Post Race Activities
BBQ lunch provided by San Miguel volunteer fire department

low to mid 50's is normal

Directions
Exit #244 off of Highway 101. Clear security and bear right around stone wall. Turn left at yield sign onto New Mexico and proceed to gymnasium on left.

Parking
Lots on each side of gym and sports field as well as across street near the Army Museum.
