About the Mavericks
What is a Maverick? The Florida Maverick Masters (FMM) originated in 1996, with the purpose of providing swimmers swimmers with the opportunity to participate in a lifelong fitness and/or competitive swimming program. We provide a positive atmosphere for individual levels of achievement and the freedom to express ideas. Our group is based at the North Shore Pool in St. Petersburg, Florida, but our swimmers practice at whatever pool is readily available to them. Some have a coach, but most are independent and do their own workouts.
