Try Not to Puke on the Finish Line
Just my two cents of training with a full time job (military) and trying not to take myself too seriously! A nice fun read (I hope).

Of Busy and Sickness...
Well got my second run in since the ATM, and it felt pretty good. I have been coping with the nastiness of the head cold / draining phlegm / hacking cough, so I just took a little time off to rest / heal / outprocess (moving in a few days to Kansas), so I have been just a little busy, but nothing ... Army Ten Miler Race Report / DC Trip Report
Well Jen and I had a nice trip to Washington D.C. this last weekend. It has been a few years since we were there last, so it was good to get back, even for such a short time. The main reason we were up in DC was for the 27 ... (continued)

Pinehurst Sprint Triathlon Race Report
Well this was a cold cold day! But I was wearing a wetsuit! And at least it wasn't raining! That's what mid to low 40's will do to a lake that's 75 degrees!

As you can see, I was really excited about this race, since it had been 3 months since my last race and I was really itching to ge ... (continued)

For the Longest Time
Well I have been “gone” for a long time, and I will try to catch every one up as to what I have been up to!
After a long layoff in July (vacation), I got back on the horse and started to train really hard, almost like a base for a new season, I started August somewhat slow with 60 and 66 miles, ... (continued)

Pro Tip: Don't take a month off!
AAAAANNNNNNDDDDD, this is how I feel! Wow, I rode with a buddy who just started riding a few weeks ago, and he smoked the crap out of me. Not discounting his ability, but I consider myself a climber, but wow, I got dropped like a hot potato on a few climbs. Yikes, nothing like "starting over". B ... (continued)

Gull Lake Triathlon Sprint Race Report
It has been a little time since I raced this race, mainly because I was on vacation (I'll recap that in a separate post) but I have photos this time and early because of the race director securing the rights to the photos, so I got a ton of them. So awesome possum! Let's get the meat and potatoes ... (continued)

Pre-Race Goals
Well I often neglect writing my goals down prior to a race, so since I have a free second or two, I will put them on paper (...err, internet) so I can look back and see if I was close or not. Let's start with the swim, and no, that isn't my squirrel or bike.

Swim: The swim leg ... (continued)

Well there's good news and there's bad news...
Well I FINALLY went to the doctor's to get my hip (and stiff neck) checked out after, oh say, a month and a half (I know, I know, older I get the slower I heal, I'm not Wolverine afterall!) and after a bunch of poking and prodding, and 10 or so X Rays (I guess I got the bulk discount), I am on a run ... 3 Little Pigs Sprint Triathlon Race Report
Well from everything that I heard, this was a race not to miss, I mean, c'mon the name SCREAMS cool! So a few months ago, I signed up for it and boy I am glad that I did.

I was not sure what to expect of this race, given my hip / groin area has made running a real test of will and my swim ... (continued)
